(More customer reviews)I saw this here on Amazon and contacted All-Clad to find out details about this pan/pot. I was told by All-Clad customer service that this item had been discontinued, and was available only through Macys. So I went to a local Macys store and bought one.
Unlike most All-Clad stainless pieces, this pot has a curved upper lip for easy pouring. The lid fits well, too.
It is about 8 inches wide (inside) and about 5 and 3/8 inches tall (outside, but not including the lid). It will easily hold a pound of spaghetti with enough water and yet not boil over or even come close to boiling over with that much pasta.
The handles do not seem to get hot in the 10 or 12 minutes that it takes to cook the pasta. They might get hot if the pan is on the burner for quite a bit longer, but I haven't had that happen yet.
I highly recommend this well-made pot.
Oh, by the way, you do not need to hand wash this pot if you don't want to. I confirmed from All-Clad customer service that all of their stainless steel pieces are dishwasher safe.
